Monday, October 3, 4:45 pm
Julien’s lecture is about growing up in the distinctive culture of New Orleans, as portrayed in her memoir, Travels with Mae: Scenes from a New Orleans Girlhood. A professor of French and comparative literature at Indiana University Bloomington, Julien has done extensive research and writing that explores the connections between Africa, Europe, and the Americas. Sponsored by The Secular Society. The Secular Society established the Hollins Visitor Program in 2015 with two purposes: to enrich the experience of students and faculty; and to expose accomplished women visitors to the benefits of a women's education—especially the benefits offered by Hollins. |
